The Studio
The studio has always been for me : A spiritual place. It’s where new discoveries are made in music, art, experimenting with new mediums and where new thought processes happen. A place of serenity where anything and everything is possible.
I believe that if you can think it - it can and will happen.
The studio is a place where dialogues and discussions can take place with honesty, sincerity, devoid of judgement. It brings about one thing - Clarity. Clarity in thought, speech, of jest in the mind and in body and spirit. It’s a physical construct, a space in time that embodies the minds and spirits of those present in the studio.
White walls permeate the entire space. Sunlight filters in throughout the studio. Airy summer winds sweep through the space which allow all manners of dreams to be realized. It also functions as a storage space for my artworks, furniture, my books and also houses an array of frame making machines and wood - readily available in all shapes, colors and sizes for any framing needs that may arise. Glass, steel, a guillotine, cutters, boards, acrylic and perspex, stretchers, brushes (synthetic bristle and natural) in long and short handles, flats, turpentine, thinners, isopropyl alcohol, industrial grade shellacs and varnishes, bitumen, sand, polyethylene - The materials jostle for space in the studio and of course, everything is where it should be.
